Botox and Xeomin Near Elgin, IL

Botox and Xeomin are prescription wrinkle relaxers, also called neuromodulators. Placed with precision, they relax the small facial muscles whose repeated contractions crease the skin, so dynamic wrinkles soften and new lines are slower to form. Xeomin contains no accessory proteins, and it is our preferred wrinkle relaxer.

You will meet with a licensed injector to discuss your goals and determine whether Botox or Xeomin is best for you. The injections themselves take about 10 to 15 minutes. Plan on roughly 30 minutes for a new-client visit and about 15 minutes when you return.

Xeomin, Our Preferred Wrinkle Relaxer

Our licensed injectors use Xeomin, our preferred wrinkle relaxer, to temporarily improve the look of frown lines, forehead lines, and crow's feet. It is made without accessory proteins. Xeomin and Botox are both prescription neurotoxins, but they are different products, and their doses are not interchangeable.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are gels placed under the skin to add volume back where volume has been lost. At Catara Med Spa, filler is placed in the cheeks and midface, the chin, the jawline, the under eye area, the smile and laugh lines of the lower face, the lips, the temples, and the backs of the hands. Filler adds volume. Wrinkle relaxers work on movement lines instead, and the two are often used together.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal at Catara Med Spa uses GentleMax Pro technology to reduce unwanted hair on the face and body over a series of sessions. Commonly treated areas include the face, chest, back, arms, underarms, legs, and the bikini area. Sessions are spaced about four to six weeks apart, and your provider sets the series length at consultation.

Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a professional exfoliation treatment that uses medical-grade solutions to remove dull, damaged outer skin layers. Peels are most often applied to the face and can also treat the neck, chest, and hands. Each peel is customized by type and strength to your concerns, and most sessions take 30 to 45 minutes.

HydraFacial

A HydraFacial is a multi-step facial treatment that cleanses, exfoliates, extracts impurities, and infuses the skin with nourishing serums. HydraFacial treats the face, neck, and decollete in 30 to 60 minutes. You start with a skin consultation with a clinical aesthetician.

A custom facial at Catara Med Spa is a 30 to 60 minute session built for your skin rather than run from a fixed protocol. Your provider starts with a skin analysis and a conversation about your routine and your goals, then decides what goes into the session with you.
